Membership

If you home institution has an institutional membership to ACHA, you can create an ACHA membership account for free. Once your ACHA membership account is created, you will automatically be enrolled in MACHA.

Membership in MACHA is automatic when you become a member of ACHA and your membership address is located in Illinois; Indiana; Kentucky; Michigan; or Ontario, Canada.

The online ACHA Membership Directory is available to search by affiliate for other MACHA members and member schools. ACHA member log-in required.

Join MACHA Leadership

The MACHA Board is a group of volunteers from across the region who are voted into office by the MACHA membership. The change and influence you can bring to the profession by being on the board takes about one hour of dedication per month. Explore each position below and consider what you could accomplish by joining the board.

President

The President serves as the head of the elected MACHA board offering oversight, leadership and direction for board matters and organizational growth as it relates to the mission of MACHA. The President serves as the head of the Executive Committee alongside the Vice President and Treasurer. The President ensures that all official MAHCA matters are carried out including the work of board committees, organizational planning and ACHA business matters.

Vice President

The Vice President is an elected officer who assists the President in MACHA organizational matters as required to benefit the stability and growth of the organization. The Vice President offers oversight and facilitation by helping lead board meetings, serving as the Chair of the Bylaw Committee, and working collaboratively with the Treasurer, State Representatives, and Program and Communications Chairs to ensure that member needs to addressed.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring accurate income and expense transactions records are maintained for MACHA. The Treasurer is also responsible for communicating with the ACHA Chief Financial Officer to submit required financial documentation for the IRS. The Treasurer, in collaboration with the board, drafts a proposed budget each year.

State Representatives 

The State Representatives serve as the main liaison between the MACHA board and state members. States reps engage state members and help ensure members’ questions, concerns, and needs are brought before the board. They also serve as point of contact/resource connection for MACHA with other college health professionals in their state.

Communication Chair

The Communication Chair, appointed by the President, is responsible for communication between the MACHA Board and MACHA membership. The position also attends all board meetings and records meetings notes. The Communications Chair maintains the MACHA website, facilitates needs assessments and garners feedback from members, and promotes MACHA membership and activities.

Program Chair

The Program Chair o plans and implements the MACHA conference following ACHA program planning guidelines, with the approval of the MACHA board. This includes conference budget reporting, venue selection, conference agenda, sponsor selection, and all other duties needed to carry out a successful MACHA conference. This position also serves as a mentor to the Program Chair Elect, who help the Program Chair in planning the MACHA conference.
